Social Media Campaign

What are you looking at?

This is a social media campaign for feminine products using alliteration as word play. I targeted a female audience for this project by contrasting the expected through bright colors, visual irony, and simplistic images.

Social Media Campaign Sketches

Process

I started this project by sketching ideas and researching companies and products to use in this campaign. The compositions are supposed to embody self-care techniques women use to destress and feel beautiful. I wanted these images to be bright so they would draw viewers in to see the “hidden” products. Feminine products are a taboo topic for some, so I wanted images that people would not initially recognize as a feminine hygiene advertisement. Also, these images needed to be bold and interesting so people would talk about them and advertise the product through word of mouth.

The tea bag replaced with a tampon was my strongest idea and I struggled with making the other compositions as visual interesting or some might say disturbing. I tried many self-care routines such as napping, face masks, taking shots, waxing, painting nails, reading, drinking tea, and more. Through many attempts and failures, I ended up with these three final compositions.

All staging, photography, and edits were self-directed. I would love to thank all my amazing models for letting me stick pads on their faces.
