I was instructed to create packaging, for an item of my choosing, that engages the user. I choose to create a highend cheese knives company that targets wedding goers. This item is designed as a gift that can be ordered and monogramed online.

Process
The unboxing project was conducted over a four-week timeline. It focused on reaching a target demographic and creating a physical experience for the user through package design.
I started this project by putting together a moodboard and concept proposal. I wanted the packaging to be reusable and multi-faceted. The packaging lid could be removed and used as a cutting board for the product. Next, I conducted research based on my target demographic, wedding guests. After extensive research I interviewed a range of people to better understand what would be useful to the users.
Based off the feedback I received during the interviews I created a protype using cardboard. Adjustments were made to make the packaging more user friendly and practical. I then went forward into physically building the wood box in my Uncle Ron’s woodshop.
The hardest part of this process was creating a pattern that fit the brand. If I were to redo this project, I would create a more unique pattern that can be used as a textile across all Milestone’s products.
Credits
I would like to thank my Uncle Ron and Pop Pop for spending hours in the wood shop helping me create my final product.
